Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 32-42mm. Sexually dimorphic. Very similar but slightly larger than Barred Yellow Eurema daira in which the black bar on the rear edge of the forewing of the male is distinctly curved. Females lack the black bar on the forewing.
Range: Southern USA down to Argentina and the Greater Antilles.
Status: Found only on sea-shores in the far south-east of the island and on the Isla de Juventud where it can be common in open grassy areas.
Nectar Plants: Stachytarpheta jamaicensis, Bidens pilosa, Melochia pyramidata, Waltheria indica and also on damp ground.
Larval Foodplants: Stylosanthes sp. and Zornia sp. (Fabaceae).
