Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 52-73mm. Sexually dimorphic with males being darker on the underside and having darker areas on the outer half of the forewings. Its much smaller size and paler orange upperwing should prevent confusion with the two previous Historis species.
Range: Endemic to the West Indies and found throughout the Greater Antilles.
Status: Uncommon and only found in forested hills especially in the east.
Nectar Plants: Many flowers including Chromolaena and Tournefortia. Will also take moisture on damp ground.
Larval Foodplants: Larvae feed nocturnally and by day hide in a leaf shelter of the foodplant Piper or Trema.
