Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 50-56mm. Sexes similar but females slightly larger. The emerald green of the head, thorax, abdomen and base of the wings is the same colour as on the Green Flasher Telegonus talus but that species lacks the white bar on the underside hindwing. Gold-spotted Aguna Aguna asander has the white bar but lacks any of the emerald green colouration.
Range: Mexico south to Brazil and north to southern Texas.
Status: In Cuba it was first found in 1962 on the Guanahacabibes Peninsular and has since been found at various sites as far east as Zapata.
Nectar Plants:, Stachytarpheta, Chromolaena odorata, Palicourea domingensis and Bauhinia.
Larval Foodplants: Bauhinia sp.
