Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 59-74mm. Sexes similar. Can be confused only with Mexican Fritillary Euptoieta hegesia which has a plainer basal area to the upper hindwing. The two species often fly together.
Range: North, Central and South America including the West Indies.
Status: On Cuba it is widespread though less common than its congener Mexican Fritillary E. hegesia.
Nectar Plants: Euphorbia heterophylla.
Larval Foodplants: Hybanthus havanensis and possibly other plants.
