Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 42-51mm. Sexes similar. Very similar to C. muripetens with which it flies and shares having three post-median white spots but that species has a darker base to the underside hindwing and a larger red patch on the forewing.
Range: Endemic to Cuba.
Status: Found only in a few places in both sections of the Escambray mountains in Central Cuba between 450–1140m.
Nectar Plants: Palicourea domingensis (Rubiaceae).
Larval Foodplants: Unknown grasses.
