Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 18-24mm. Sexes similar. Small and inconspicuous and fast-flying but the pale grey underside marked with a wavy reddish line and dots are diagnostic. There is just a single tail on each hindwing.
Range: From Southern USA to northern South America and many of the Antillean islands..
Status: It was first discovered on Cuba in 1991 and has since been found to be widespread though it is small and inconspicuous and is easily overlooked.
Nectar Plants: Euphorbia, Turnera ulmifolia, Cailliea glomerata, Bidens alba, Mimosa pudica and Acacia.
Larval Foodplants: Mimosa pudica, Acacia farnesiana and Leucaena leucocephala. The larvae feed on the flowers of the foodplants.
