Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 34-44mm. Sexes similar. Hindwing ocellus rather small and pear-shaped is unlike any other Calisto. Just two post-median white spots on the hindwing and a general covering of pale or greyish scales.
Range: Endemic to Cuba.
Status: Inhabits rainforest, scrub forest and pine forest on the northern edge of the Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa mountains in the far east of the island mostly at low elevations but up to 450m in the Sierra de Cristal. The species is replaced by the Cuban Common Calisto C. herophile where its habitat has been destroyed.
Nectar Plants: Scaelova wrightii a local endemic shrub.
Larval Foodplants: Unknown.
