Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 46-62mm. Sexes similar. Background colour is brown with prominent white patches and is unlike any other species. Has been said to be as common as the White Peacock Anartia jatrophae (Hernandez, and Smith et al) but we have certainly not found this to be the case on our visits to date during winter.
Range: Endemic to Cuba.
Status: Widespread and found in grassy shrubby areas wherever the foodplant Lippia grows. Usually flies close to the ground.
Nectar Plants: Bidens, Stachytarpheta jamaicensis, Chromolaena odorata, Ixora.
Larval Foodplants: Lippia sp.
