Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 40-46mm. Sexually dimorphic. The female of this distinctive Skipper has a broad white band (yellow in the male) running diagonally across the hindwing underside ending at the tornus. Other species showing a white band are Corrupt Skipper Panoquina corrupta where the band runs towards the centre of the abdomen and Gold-spotted Aguna Aguna asander and Emerald Aguna Aguna claxon which both have much longer forewings.
Range: Found only in Mexico and the Caribbean islands of Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola and Puerto Rico.
Status: Widespread and common in open flowery places.
Nectar Plants: Lantana, Ageratum conyzoides, Bidens alba, Pluchea, Tournefortia hirsutissima and others.
Larval Foodplants: Various grasses including Paspalum conjugatum.
