Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 84-100mm. Sexes similar. The large size and green and brown colouration is unmistakable.
Range: Southern USA to Brazil, and Cuba and Grand Cayman in the West Indies.
Status: Widespread and fairly common throughout in woodland rides, open fields and gardens.
Nectar Plants: Feeds on rotten fruit and the nectar of flowers.
Larval Foodplants: Larvae have been reared on Blechum brownei (Acanthaceae).
