Previously known as: Cabares potrillo.
Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 36-45mm. Similar to Hammock Skipper Polygonus leo but smaller due to shorter forewings. The white dots on the forewing are also smaller and a different pattern.
Range: Southern USA through Central America and the Caribbean Islands to Venezuela.
Status: Widespread in Cuba but apparently commoner at the eastern end of the island.
Nectar Plants: Stachytarpheta jamaicensis, Melochia nodiflora, Priva lappulacea and Biden pilosa.
Larval Foodplants: Priva lappulacea.
