Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 36-42mm. Sexes similar. Distinguished from: C. herophile and C. brochei by having three post-median white spots (centre one largest) not four; from C. bruneri by the larger red patch on the forewing and by having three post-median white spots not two on the hindwing; from C. israeli by lacking the large white triangle on the hindwing.
Range: Endemic to Cuba.
Status: Known only from a few localities in the Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa mountain range near Moa where it flies with C. herophile, C. brochei, C. bruneri and C. israeli. It is found flying mainly in the shade in the scrub forests of the lowlands and rainforests up to 700m.
Nectar Plants: Unknown.
Larval Foodplants: Grasses.
