Description and Similar Species: Wingspan 40-44mm. Sexually similar but females slightly larger. The only skipper with green underside to the hindwings with a row of white spots.
Range: Endemic to Cuba.
Status: On Cuba it is very rare though there have been records from both ends of the island. It has been found at the base of the 'mogotes' at Viñales, western Cuba (Fontenla, 1987), and in the foothills of Sierra Maestra, eastern Cuba (Alayo & Hernández, 1987), and also throughout the Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa mountain range, also in eastern Cuba (Álvarez et al., 2023),
Nectar Plants: Eupatorium and Tournefortia.
Larval Foodplants: The grass Tibisia farcta, previously known as Arthrostylidium capillifolium Grisebach and commonly known
as “tibisí”, is widespread in serpentine and karstic locations throughout Cuba (Álvarez et al., 2024).
