Two years ago, Flickr was losing tens of millions of dollars a year. Last year it was bought by SmugMug who have since greatly improved the system, speed, support and services, and done away with the annoying Yahoo login. It has modernized its technology along the way and as a result pages are already 20% faster and photos load 30% more quickly.
