Lynn and I were very sad to hear of the compulsory liquidation of Thomas Cook. We have enjoyed several trips to Cuba using Thomas Cook package holidays or flights to Holguín and have always found their staff friendly, courteous and professional. What a shame that it didn't have better management!
We are sad too for the Cuban people working as Thomas Cook reps in the hotels, in fact for all the staff in the hotels as there will be a rapid dip in numbers of tourists which will affect the livelihoods of the staff and their families. And it will affect the struggling Cuban economy that is already suffering fuel shortages.
